Katherine Heigl reveals the ways that growing up as a child in a 'white bubble' changed the way she raised her adoptive multiracial family. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane" actress, along with "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared her body didn't matter to her. But after having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of the stark differences their lives were. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated one way while going out with us parents and in a different manner in the time she was alone without them. Meg replied: "Oh yes, I've seen the whole thing!' Heigl told Parents, "That made me realise how foolish I was." The actress said that she was angry but felt she needed to channel her anger in order to assist her adopted daughters. Heigl shares a son of 4 years with Josh Kelley, her husband for the past 13 years. They were adopted by Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, and then Adalaide who was 8 years old and is Black in 2012.
