As I was a mom with one child with me, and other babies in the cradle, I was working 12 hour shifts cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! All was starting to take shape, however we weren't anywhere near finished. The home would require lots of time and a love of shopping. In order to stay within my budget, I began going to estate sales with my three boys searching for gems hidden in the dirt. We used to go on a weekly basis to visit auctions and garage sales on the weekend as well as purchase various of pieces old and newly created. My work days were spent at the end of the driveway, painting or sanding. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I found my love for restoration. I continued to restore furniture long after we decorated our house. There was a place on the market in town in which I sold my pieces. Then, my collection got so large that the room I had was inadequate. The house became a venue in which I held open houses. Up to 1000 visitors could see items from my first floor before purchasing them. Growing Days is the result of this. While my company grew as did our family. The balance was between starting a business and being a mother. Growing Days just fit. Nora was born in 2013 as our 4th baby. I loved where my business was heading but I needed a break. I got away from furniture that was vintage to enjoy the time I needed with my kids. It was what I wanted. After a while. They were asking for my assistance in decorating as well as renovations. A majority of them walked into my house at my open house for furniture. In the following months, I began to take on more clients, according to my own pace. Then I was able to have many customers and was operating an enterprise of renovations to homes. There is a good chance that I would have laughed if somebody had informed me that my venture was going to be part of a forthcoming tv program in the DIY Network. It's hilarious to look back on it.
